There’s still no hint of the golden hammer that is present in all of the promotional ads for the new series, not to mention Aaron’s Avengers, where he is currently wielding it without explanation, but hopefully answers will be coming soon. The audience is treated to two more from Thor’s ever-growing armory in this issue, including a bomb hammer that comes in particularly handy. In a moment where he warns Thor about his brother, Tyr, readers are left wondering if Loki is manipulating Thor or genuinely warning him of danger.Īnother bit of fun is the continuing exploration of Thor’s new arsenal of hammers. He is surrounded by enemies and having to maneuver to keep himself safe. Loki, in particular, is interesting in this environment. Couple that with the awkwardness of Loki, the black sheep of the family who has tried to, or succeeded, in killing most of their allies, and you have enough in this issue to qualify as entertaining.

What we do have for you is an image that shows the concept art for Daniel Craig’s Balder the Brave cameo. Maybe Daniel Craig will get a chance to play the superhero in the future, but we’re just speculating at this point. Come to think of it, not having Balder the Brave in Doctor Strange 2 gives Marvel the opportunity to add the character to a different multiverse project. Most of those superheroes died horrific deaths or sustained significant injuries after Wanda’s (Elizabeth Olsen) carnage in that universe.

Marvel would have probably used Balder in the group of Illuminati heroes that judges Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) on Earth-838. That’s a superhero we’re yet to meet in the MCU.
